Commercial Rib Charter (CRC), operator of Europe’s largest fleet of commercial RIBs, is celebrating another successful season on the water, aided by Fischer Panda’s range of compact, quiet and reliable marine generators.
Having purchased several of Fischer Panda’s 8000i and 4800i models for its cabin RIBs over recent years, CRC has successfully run crew transfer vessels, filming boats and guard vessels in maximum safety and comfort for their passengers and crew.
For nearly six months in the Solent, CRC ran the dive support vessel CRC Tempest, providing a fully-certified three diver surface supply spread for a major cable-laying project. Crucial to its success was the integrated Fischer Panda 4800i generator on board, required to run the essential dive monitoring equipment and communication links to the divers when underwater. Despite the Fischer Panda 4800i running almost constantly throughout the contract, it never let Tempest down and diving operations ran without interruption.
Stuart Hedges, Director of Commercial Rib Charter, commented: “We’re delighted to have had another successful year with our compact Fischer Panda marine generators. We operate Europe’s largest fleet of commercial RIBs, and many of our operations depend on the generators working perfectly – whether that’s powering essential monitoring systems, survey and film equipment or providing maximum passenger comfort on our crew transfer vessels. We have been impressed that these generators can be installed in small engine rooms and operate on high-speed vessels for long hours at a time.
“Many of our vessels work long hours, often 24/7, but these generators have performed well on our RIBs, despite the space constraints in our engine rooms and the regular shock loads found on vessels cruising at 25+ knots.”
Chris Fower, Sales and Marketing Director at Fischer Panda, added: “Our variable-speed, water-cooled generators are designed for just this kind of application – long hours of trouble-free, whisper-quiet operation in the most demanding circumstances. We are delighted that our products have played their part in assisting Commercial Rib Charter and their customers during another successful year, and look forward to continuing to support them in the future.”
